DINING:
Intero serves fresh, seasonally inspired Italian fare and excellent wine and cocktails in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Their focus is on whole product usage and creative preparations of only the freshest, locally-sourced produce. This owner-operated restaurant is a favorite of Heywood Hotel staff and guests, and is known to thoughtfully accommodate vegetarian, gluten-free and other special diets.
Uptown Sports Club is the latest offering by Franklin Barbecue owner Aaron Franklin and friends. They have reimagined a 1949 historic sports-betting club as a sophisticated and welcoming modern restaurant featuring Louisiana-meets-Texas fare, a raw bar and great cocktails. All diets accommodated.
TONARI Omakase by Uroko is an intimate sushi-counter experience where co-owner/chef Masazumi Saio personally serves a 12-course nigiri omakase meal at a relaxing and inviting counter that seats just 6. The Omakase at Tonari is a 45-minute dining experience featuring some of the best fish in town, sourced primarily from the Toyosu fish market in Japan, with techniques perfected over 20 years of experience. Vegetarian options available.
Licha’s Cantina is a small East Austin house converted into a casual patio restaurant with a funky, local vibe. The focus is on Interior and Coastal Mexican food made with fresh, in-house tortillas and handground masa. Our favorites include tlacoyos with shrimp and mole, huaraches with tuetano (bone marrow), and achiote-rubbed tikin xic (snapper). Vegetarian and gluten-free options available. And don’t forget the margaritas.
Casa Bianca is brand new to the East Austin dining scene and we couldn’t be happier to have them as neighbors! Executive Chef/Owner Joseph Zoccoli calls his food “weirdo Italian.” Small plates and entrees are influenced by Japanese forms and techniques. The menu includes lots of raw bar and conservas, along with an extensive wine menu and on-tap cocktails including the Aperol Spritz and Old Fashioned. We love the limoncello doughnuts! Vegetarian options available.
Hillside Farmacy is an East Austin mainstay. This a farm-to-table “farmacy” is an antique chic, and eclectic eatery, definitely one of the cutest spots in town. They thoughtfully source produce supporting local farms and ranches and provide updated seasonal menus for guaranteed freshness. Serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. Vegetarian and gluten-free options available.
